Our program will help your child develop skills, attitudes and knowledge to enable them to compete successfully in soccer at the highest levels.
Established in 1990, our Soccer Excellence Program is WA's leading soccer program in secondary schools. . The program has produced many State representatives. Specialised Coaching
Your child will learn from specialist soccer teachers who are accredited with Football Federation of Australia Instructor's Licence or Senior Licence and/or State League Licence.
Your child will have access to soccer industry based professionals. This unique opportunity is supported by the Football Federation of Australia and Football West.
Your child will benefit from guest coaches who share their knowledge, skills and experience. This provides flexibility and diversity to the program, and enables them to experience different coaching styles. Our visiting coaches have state and national accreditation.
Coerver Coaching
In Years 8, 9 and 10, your child will receive Coerver Coaching to develop their individual football techniques. This is the leading coaching style throughout the world and provides players with a competitive advantage.
Goalkeeper Coaching
If you child is a goalkeeper, they will work with experienced goalkeeper coaches at least once a week on physiological and technical abilities to improve strength, power, speed and agility.

Trials for these years will be in June. Applications can be downloaded from this page and forwarded on to the college as soon as possible.
Soccer Excellence Program Overview
Your child will have access to state-of-the-art facilities, expert coaches, specialised skills development and links to tertiary and industry bodies.
This elite program has been developed with the assistance of Football West and focuses on acquiring skills through practical sessions. All sessions are run during school time as part of the students' normal timetable.
Course Curriculum
Years 8 to 10
Your child will learn match tactics and strategies, develop refereeing skills and study the history of soccer. They will participate in intense technical and skills development four hours a week.
Years 11 to 12
Students will participate in intense technical development for three hours a week and will have an increased focus on strategies and tactics.
Certificate II Sports Coaching:
The Certificate II in Sports Coaching will cover aspects such as First Aid and Sports Injury Management. Students also learn the theory of coaching and will complete the Football Federation of Australia Junior Coaching Licence and the Level 4 Referees accreditation.
This course will provide pathways into TAFE and points for WACE graduation.
Extra Curricular Activities
International Tour
In alternating years students are offered the opportunity to tour internationally. Your child can test their skills against other clubs, school and national teams. They can also participate in goal setting and leadership activities, and experience different cultures.
South West Tour
Year 10 students participate in leadership and goal setting activities in the South West while playing against local club and school teams.
Interschool Matches
Each year the college participates in School Sport WA's Champion Schools U/15 and U/18 Competition and has been very successful in this competition over many years.
